Our Story

Fishingfins

As a young boy, I spent countless hours waiting for a bite on our dock at our lake house in Guatemala. Summers were spent fishing under the Caribbean sun in Belize. My addiction to fishing began at a young age and over the years, I accumulated a lot of fishing equipment, particularly offshore fishing lures.

Fishing can be an expensive sport, but for an angler like me, the need for more equipment never ended. There's always that extra lure, fishing rod, or even a bigger boat that i wanted to acquire.

Changing lure colors or fishing lure heads on a spread while trolling is a common practice among anglers. This is done to increase the chances of triggering a bite. However, constantly changing the lure can be a tedious and costly process. That's when the idea of designing a quality trolling lure with interchangeable snap on color skirts & Heads came to me. With this design, anglers can quickly interchange lure colors without the need to change the lure head or unrig from the main line.

Developing the perfect design wasn't easy, and I went through many prototypes before coming up with a working model. After many trials and errors, I finally got my 3D printed design to work, and I knew I had something unique. It was important to legally protect my idea, so I filed for a design and utility patent with the help of my Lawyer friend, Dave Fournier who we both graduated from Culver Military Academy in 1993.

The approval of 2 US design patent was a significant achievement, but the real surprise came when i was also allowed a US Utility patent for my lure. 

I am proud to introduce the Snap On Lures to the market. 

This journey wouldn't have been possible without the support of my family and friends who believed in me. I am grateful for their support, and I hope that my creation brings Big Fish & Joy to many anglers out there.
